Canadian Open (2001)

The 2001 Canadian Open was held in the small (pop. 5,000) university town (Mount Allison University) of Sackville, New Brunswick. The two participating GM's - Larry Christiansen (USA), and Anthony Miles (ENG) - dominated the event - both finishing with 9/10 - 1.5 points ahead of the field (169 players). Among the group of five players tied for third (7.5/10), was 14 year old Mark Bluvshtein of Toronto - the only non-titled player in this score group.
