—————————————————————————————————————— Generous schedule with 9 rounds in 13 days, starting on Friday 28 July and ending on Wednesday 9 August. Adjourned games played out 10 August. Rest days: 31 July, 3, 5 and 8 August. Möller beat Vestøl in the last round and defended his Nordic Champion title. The Masters tournament was won by Fridrik Olafsson, ahead of Hugo Nihlen and Aki Petursson (=2nd).The congress meetings started on Thursday 10 August. On 7 August (on the day of Round 8) they had received a telegram from FIDE vice president Ari Ilmakunnas, saying that the tournament could not be regarded as a Zonal (like in 1947) but it could serve as a qualification for the Marianske Lazne / Prague Zonal (1951).
