Generous schedule with 9 rounds in 13 days, starting on Friday 28 July and ending on Wednesday 9 August. Adjourned games played out 10 August. Rest days: 31 July, 3, 5 and 8 August. Möller beat Vestøl in the last round and defended his Nordic Champion title. The Masters tournament was won by Fridrik Olafsson, ahead of Hugo Nihlen and Aki Petursson (=2nd).

The congress meetings started on Thursday 10 August. On 7 August (on the day of Round 8) they had received a telegram from FIDE vice president Ari Ilmakunnas, saying that the tournament could not be regarded as a Zonal (like in 1947) but it could serve as a qualification for the Marianske Lazne / Prague Zonal (1951).

Tabanus: 2700chess have it mostly right BUT

1) their game dates (rounds 3-9) are off by two days - they have just guessed them.

2) two of their 45 games have wrong result, 0-1 vs 1-0.

3) they have switched the round numbers and game scores of G Sigurdsson vs A Vestol, 1950 and G Sigurdsson vs E Gilfer, 1950.

4) they have wrong Palle Nielsen, should be Palle Møller Nielsen.
