Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-18-16  EhsanBalani: Where is Hou Yifan?
Apr-18-16  sonia91: Hou Yifan is too strong for the women (she just withdrew the Women's World Championship cycle!); she competed with the men in the Chinese championship since 2008 or so; she didn't play in 2015 nor this year.
Apr-19-16  Mr. V: The real question is where is Ju Wenjun.
Apr-19-16  sonia91: The lowest rated player in the field, Hong Xing, is rated only 1986, I wonder how did she qualify for this championship.
Apr-19-16  notyetagm: <Mr. V: The real question is where is Ju Wenjun.>

She's with me. Are you jealous? ;-)

Apr-20-16  Mr. V: <notyetagm> you have a talent for showing up anytime she's mentioned, I've noticed.

Btw does anyone know the qualification system? I wish the Chinese federation did a better job of marketing their chess to their fans outside of China.

Apr-20-16  markz: Chinese Championship group A (12 players) qualification paths: 1. The top 8 of last year group A.
2. The top 3 of last year group B.
3. CCA nominees (e.g. Hong Xing)
4. By rating (also for replacement)

The group B will play a 11-round swiss open in July this year.

Apr-20-16  Mr. V: Thanks!
Apr-21-16  notyetagm: <Mr. V: <notyetagm> you have a talent for showing up anytime she's mentioned, I've noticed.>

Ju Wenjun is smart and beautiful. What more can you ask for?

Apr-23-16  dehanne: <Ju Wenjun is smart and beautiful. What more can you ask for?> Qi Guo is cutest Chinese player imo.
Apr-29-16  sonia91: Congratulations to Guo Qi!
