GrahamClayton: One of the major figures in the history of chess in Lebanon. Succar was President of the Lebanese Chess Federation from 1965 to 1997, as well as being General Secretary of the Lebanese Chess Club from 1954 to 1965.

Succar was awarded the title of "Pillar of the Arab Chess Community" by the Arab Chess Federation.

Fusilli: A google search shows him as author of a book titled "The History of Chess." It seems to be available only in Arabic.

I wonder if Succar is still alive.
