Sep-22-04  francescog: He has a really long name. If we found out what the "A" stands for, he could be a competitor for the longest name in the database...
Sep-22-04  percyblakeney: Apparently it's Antonio (and he lived between 1828 and 1892). The whole name is given in the P section here: http://www.alessandrina.librari.ben...
Sep-22-04  sneaky pete: <francescog> Simone is female and <a> is just a French preposition (can mean to, on, near). Suppose she ever met Tassilo von Heydebrand und von der Lasa and it clicked ...
Sep-22-04  sneaky pete: Just googled him up: Simone Antonio Pacoret di (de) Saint Bon, Italian minister of the Navy 1873-1876 and 1891-1892. But if he was gay ...
Sep-23-04  francescog: <sneaky pete> I never heard of him (I'm italian, I should have known!). Thanks for the search =) I was rather sure of him being italian (and of being male, let apart his inclinations) because Simone is a male name in Italy (I think there was some apostle named Simone..Simon Pietro, I think), and Serafino Dubois was italian, too!

Francesco

Sep-23-04  francescog: <chessgames.com> After <sneaky pete>'s researches maybe you could fix the name to Simone Antonio =)
