May-22-13  thomastonk: Gerrit Hendrik Bernard Hogewind died at the age of 75 in 1934. He was a teacher of mathematics until 1896. Then he joined the machine works "Drakenburgh" in Utrecht and became later its director. He was the president of the Schaakclub Utrecht from 1886 until 1911.

These dates were taken from http://www.schaakclubutrecht.nl/his..., where also a picture with him can be found.

The exact date of death is August 3, 1934 (from his death notice).
