kingscrusher: Does anyone know if Peter is still playing chess ?! He used to win all the Rapid plays!
Jul-14-11  I play the Fred: <Shams>: That line reminds me of a story I read about Greg Oden. When he was growing up, he stopped playing video games because his hands were too big for the controllers.

With his NBA money and constant injuries, I'm sure he's gotten custom controllers and resumed the habit.

PeterLalic: Large is a secret gambiteer! Observe his recent pandemonia. Take for example P Large vs B Keohane, 2023.

At the Wimbledon FIDE Congress, he sacrificed a pawn on move seven and a bishop on move nine, in P Large vs B Keohane, 2023.

In the next round of the same tournament, he beat FM Radovanovic quickly with the black pieces. He sacrificed with ...f5 in Owen's Defence. He is unrecognisable!

I perpetuated via electronic mail a stereotype of Large that is old. He is no longer a technician that fears the chaos of dynamic positions.

Alternatively, perhaps Large is leaving his comfort zone in search of brilliancy prizes and games of the day on Chessgames.com.

perfidious: Reading <BCM> in the late 1970s, I recall Large enjoying great success on the British Grand Prix circuit.
Dec-01-23  Olavi: In the strongest tournament he played in he beat both participating Soviet male GMs: Hastings (1986/87)
