Stukopin became a FIDE Master in 2006 and an IM in 2009. He earned a GM norm at the 2012 Aeroflot Open B, in which he scored 6/9, placing =2nd (4th on tie break) and became a Grandmaster in 2014. Stukopin plays for New Jersey in the United States chess league.
