An Englishman: Good Morning: Looks almost as if the players haven't decided if they want a brawling or peaceful game. Psychologically, not a bad idea; even at the Super-GM level, concealing one's intentions for as long as possible has to feel at least a tad uncomfortable.

An Englishman: Good Morning: Since my last comment (after 10...Be6) White seems to have accumulated a slight advantage thanks to the Rook capture on b5. It looks surprisingly annoying. If Black had already played ...Ra8-e8, 16...Nd8 would become an easy defense, but with the Rook still on a8, it becomes a little inconvenient.
Jun-06-24  vonKrolock: after d3-d4 Black can take exd4 or maybe play c7-c6 etc (im not seeing a third possibiity)
Jun-06-24  vonKrolock: Rb5-a5 threatens to win already the exchange: how would Black answer?
Jun-06-24  Atking: 18.dxe dxe 19.Rxe5 Bb8 20.Rf5 Qxc3
Jun-06-24  Atking: On 18.Ra5 still 18...Ne6 19.Nxd6 Nxd4
Jun-06-24  Messiah: I hope Justin will lose this one.
Jun-06-24  Atking: My feeling is Black has already an easier game. Black has a pawn structure more compact and a promising dark square B
Jun-06-24  Atking: Keeping a pressure on b7 to have Nd8 passive, is probably the way the game should go Rb1 or Rb2!? eventually Rb3
Jun-06-24  Messiah: why not 18.exd5
Jun-06-24  vonKrolock: dxe5 is playable... (or if not, a Rook move of course)
Jun-06-24  Atking: Messiah If you mean 18. dxe5 then 18...dxe 19.Rxe5 Bb8 20.Rf5 Qxc3
Jun-06-24  vonKrolock: 20.Rc5 instead of Rf5 (perhaps)
Jun-06-24  vonKrolock: Then 20...Ne6 etc, ok

An Englishman: Good Morning: White has spent rather a surprising amount of time on his 18th move. In my playing days, would have tried 18.Rb2 intending a transfer to either central file after only a few minutes' thought. Probably demonstrates a painful lack of imagination on my part.
Jun-06-24  Atking: 21...Rfb8 22.d5 Qd8 then 23...Nc5
Jun-06-24  Atking: All these exchanges the draw is not far.
