Korora: As of 10.♖e1, Abdussatorov is definitely behind in development. The QB still cannot move yet, and the QN can only develop onto the rim.
Mar-04-24  Andrew Chapman: 'definitely behind in development' I wouldn't say 'definitely' - white is castled.

  Korora: <Andrew Chapman> I'd also noticed that Black's ♗s were more mobile than White's Q-side pieces.

That was a surprise, for me. I don't get the point of it.

offramp: Now that the queens are off White has chances of survival.

The black ♕ + ♗ could have been potent.

Mar-04-24  Andrew Chapman: The machine says equal until 36. Re2. Then Black to move would be a puzzle.

Equal till move 35.

36. Re2 is a blunder . After that it is Tuesday puzzle , imo .

offramp: White made an error with 36. Re2, but I think the lead up is interesting. I am sure that Abdusattorov was unhappy without his position. His king was a bit exposed. Here he wanted to 'improve' his bishop.

He played 33. Bf3.
He may have had the idea of 33...Qxb2, 34. Qxb2 Bxb2 35. Bd5, attacking f7 - where Black might have to play ...Nh8. Strewth!
After 33. Bf3 Black played 33...h6.
White played
34. Bh5 and Black replied with a normal move:
34...Qd5.

White played
35. Bf3, going back, attacking the black queen.
I think White was dithering a bit, and this was the prelude to the mistake.

Mar-04-24  whiteshark: No one masters anything without hard work.
Mar-05-24  coolthing76: Could we say that White shouldn't have resisted the light squared Bishop exchange -specially on g2- many times? My guess is that what made Black's tactic -winning 2 pieces for a Rook- possible later.
Mar-05-24  Andrew Chapman: <<Andrew Chapman: The machine says equal until 36. Re2. Then Black to move would be a puzzle> Equal till move 35.

36. Re2 is a blunder .>Well yes, that is what I meant, but you have got me thinking about the meaning of 'until'. The question can be expressed in terms of whether it is inclusive or exclusive: https://ell.stackexchange.com/quest...

Yes , I too thought that that is what you meant , however , I wrote it anyways for my own clarity because English is my second language and I too was not clear whether until means including that move or not .

Sorry , if I came across as a jerk .
