Ol' FTB has never seen a miniature quite like this!

  FSR: The configuration of pieces in the middle does look strikingly like a cross.

  MissScarlett: That's because it is a cross. You only need to start worrying when it looks like a crucifix.

Nov-03-22  stone free or die: Some other potential avenues:

<Central Control>

<Stuck in the Middle F.U.>

<Rule #1- Control the Center>

<Crosstown Traffic>

<Adewumi umami> or <Adewumumi>

<The family is devoutly Christian and said they were threatened with violence by the Islamist terrorist organization Boko Haram. In June 2017, they left Nigeria for the United States and sought religious asylum.> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tanit...

  fredthebear: Freedoms must not be taken for granted. The Boko Haram organization has made a name for itself: https://www.britannica.com/topic/Bo...

Many of the world's children are raised to despise Western Civilization. (Western Civilization indoctrinates children w/materialism, sports and video games -- competition? It's a "get all you can" culture lacking in ethics? We even feel sorry for criminals who knowingly, deliberately break the law.) Generalizations to be sure, but cultures clash.

This short news clip may be an exaggeration. It's not healthy for anyone to do chess or likely any other activity for 10-12 hours a day: https://www.bing.com/videos/search?...

Of course I've topped that time limit a few times, like Halloween. People need some variety, physical activity, and social interaction besides ballgames. How about a daily Bible reading?

"Moderation in all things" -- Aristotle

"Don't put all your eggs in one basket." -- Heartland expression

Hey, The McRib is back one more time! I'll be back in 30 minutes, need some variety don't ya know?

Impressive for a three-minute game, especially with active knights.

"Help your pieces help you." -- Paul Morphy

Nov-04-22  stone free or die: <"Help your pieces (so they can) help you." -- Paul Morphy>

This is widely attributed to Morphy - but where exactly did he say it?

Or rather, where exactly did it first come from?

.

Nov-04-22  ndg2: The cross form at the end makes this game especially aesthetically appealing.
Nov-26-22  generror: This is a video fo the game played live in a New York park:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzz...

and it's one of the all-time awesomest chess video ever! To see how confident and cool that little boy is while beating the @#$% out of someone who would beat the @#$% out of me without even having to try just makes me happy every time.

"Am I mated?" -- "Yes you are." XD

  naresb: Nice blend/combination of Lawnmover mate maneuveres and exchange sacrifice into a kind of Hook mate, except that Knight stand replaced by a Pawn & Bishop.
