  jessicafischerqueen:

<Edward Winter> published this game in his "Chess Explorations" (1996) p.56, and he supplies a few intriguing notes.

Winter harvested the game score from Krejcik's "Mien Abschied vom Schach," and reveals that in that source Krejcik reports that this game has been called "the prettiest queen odds game of all time."

==========

Winter adds his own note on the score as well, remarking "How strange that 11...Bxb4+ has been overlooked."

  Stonehenge: You keep on confusing AUS with AUT.

  fredthebear: The record high cost of inflation is affecting everyone these days. The November elections cannot get here soon enough.

Mating in thirteen without the queen is somewhat impressive. Then again 11...BxNb4+ is a game-changer.

NUTS, let's fix this checkmate for White:

11.Na5+ Kd6 12.Bf4#, so 11...Kb5 12.a4+ KxNa5 13.Bd2+ Bb4 14.BxBb4# That unruly Black bishop is just an appetizer in this adjusted line.
