Dec-03-17 | | BOSTER: Black pieces have limited mobility. Best is try to open "b" file, and activate the pieces. |

Dec-03-17 | | Ulhumbrus: Perhaps So thinks that 0-0-0 has become riskier for White or safer for Black. |

Dec-03-17 | | Marmot PFL: So was running low on time and lost his nerve. |

Dec-03-17 | | Ulhumbrus: <Marmot PFL: So was running low on time and lost his nerve.> That looks like one possible explanation. |

Dec-03-17 | | Severin: Wesley So will never become World Champion, because he has no courage or will to win. Sad to see his talent go to waste, but not shocking at all at this point |
Dec-03-17 | | WorstPlayerEver: It's kind of ironic; White had to attack on the King side 17. h4-h5 with their King on e1. And while all White's long range pieces are still at bay, their position is pretty active enough. Space advantage + pressure on d6 versus piece development. It's funny that Ne4 is White's strongest piece and that after Rg1, Bd2 and Nh5 White did undermine that position, which means White was clueless about the position anyhow. Curious. |
Dec-03-17 | | JPi: Very strange to got such good position with a classical control Ne4 over Bg7 already at move 15 and going nowhere 10 moves latter. I imagine that an humorous spirit like Tal will have played 16.a5 then 17.h5. I do not understand 9..Bg7 either; 9...Be7 keeping the square g7 for the knight especially in case of f7-f5, looks more pleasant. |
