Oct-24-23  Brenin: Ignore the tempting 20 ... Bxh2+, there are richer pickings on the Q-side. An immediate 20 ... b5 leads to 21 Nxd6 bxa4 22 Nxf5 exf5, which looks drawn, but Black can avoid this with 20 ... Rxc4 21 Rxc4 b5, winning a piece.
Oct-24-23  mel gibson: As it was a puzzle I thought it must have been a check 20. ..Bxh2+ I got tricked. LOL

Stockfish 16 says:

20. .. Rxc4

(20. .. Rxc4 (Rd4xc4 Rc3xc4 b7-b5 Qa4-a6 b5xc4 Qa6xc4 Qf5-e5 g2-g3 h7-h5 Rf1-b1 h5-h4 Qc4-d3 h4xg3 f2xg3 Qe5-d5 Rb1-b3 Rh8-f8 ) +5.46/45 164)

score for Black +5.46 depth 45.

If I force SF to play my choice:

20. .. Bxh2+

(20. .. Bxh2+ 21. Kxh2 (Kg1xh2 Rd4xc4 Rc3xc4 b7-b5 Qa4-a6 b5xc4 Qa6xc4 Qf5-e5+ Kh2-g1 Rh8-d8 Rf1-c1 Rd8-d5 g2-g3 Qe5-d6 Kg1-g2 g7-g6 a2-a3 Rd5-e5 Qc4-c3 Kb8-b7 Qc3-c2 Qd6-d5+ ) -0.17/48 95)

score for Black -0.17 = a draw.

takebackok: Had to think, after not enough juice on the king side, winning a piece has to be gg.
Oct-24-23  saturn2: first you think it is about h2 but then you spot the skewer b5
Oct-24-23  daladno: I tried to mess with Bxh2 too and missed the Q-side thing completely. And it's only Tuesday (sigh)

Oct-24-23  TheaN: Very tricky puzzle. I actually messed it up wanting to make Bxh2+ work too much. The solution is straightforward if you see it, but I thought 20....Bxh2+?! 21.Kxh2 b5 would also lead to advantage.

Strangely, White has enough resources to go two pawns down initially: 22.Qa6 (not 22.Nd6? (this works after b5 straight away)) Qh5+ 23.Rh3 Qxh3+ -+) Rxc4 23.Ra3=:

Interesting position. Black can't defend a7, and because it comes with tempo White can stop the attack on his own king: 23....Rh4+ 24.Kg1 Qh5 25.Qxa7+ Kc8 26.f4 Rh1+ 27.Kf2, pretty forced:

Black doesn't have much better than perpetual or trading off with no real prospects.
