fredthebear: Somebody has to say it -- the beloved castle mate!!!

FSR's note says 18.0-0-0# was faster.

fredthebear: <MissScarlett> You caught FTB in the middle of an edit and the order of appearance got bumped. Yes, I actually read what I post.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Good job on the pun, <OhioChessFan>. The gambit is unsound, of course, but if you must play it, at least play 4...Ng4 instead of 4...Ng8.

OhioChessFan: Huh. <MissScarlett> beat me to it by a couple years...

sleepyirv: And let that be a lesson to all new players and patzers: Don't castle into it!
Aug-28-19  catlover: Love the pun! I used to use that shampoo.

I wonder if 13...c6 would have offered better defensive chances.

Aug-28-19  Ratt Boy: Props to <MissScarlett> and <OhioChessFan> for the pun. This game is a better candidate for that pun than the other (which was played by a different "Vidal"). This opening is best used in Bullet Chess, not in any serious game. I guess it's time trouble that kept Vidal from mating on move 18. Or something.
Aug-28-19  Momentum Man: To add insult to injury, Black was down material when he got mated

FSR: I love me a good castles mate, but it's sad that White did it a move later than necessary. Game Collection: Mate by Castling

eternaloptimist: This is a very good pun & an amusing game!! I’ll give <MissScarlett> credit for the pun but u have submitted some good puns w/ some good games recently, <OCF>!
