Where does lutefisk fit in?

Jul-01-15  cro777: Arkadij Naiditsch: "Psychologically I can’t imagine Hammer’s situation. How to play against your boss? Against somebody who you helped become World Champion, accompanied to so many events and who you see is having a horrible event."

Does Hammer in Norwegian mean the same as the English Hammer?

Norwegian Hammer - If desired target is missed, you're not Norwegian.

Jul-01-15  epistle: The Norwegian Hammer didn't miss. They are compatible with each other.
Jul-09-15  wordfunph: "Yeah, I have plenty! I mean, Magnus is obviously one of them. It's a great benefit to have the world number one as someone you can just ask for opening advice or endgame strategy or whatever."

- Jon Ludvig Hammer (when asked for his chess heroes)

perfidious: Time for another <asholight> to disappear.
Nov-22-15  thegoldenband: 28. Ne6 elevates this pun to the next level. Without that, it'd be merely clever; with it, it's bordering on sublime.

perfidious: <morf> First cousin to <AsosLight>, another poster who has no use for Kasparov and insists on referring to him as Weinstein to remind everyone in creation of Kasparov's Jewish origins, because he/she is a raving anti-Semite.

Far as I am concerned, one can dislike anyone they wish, including me, but the outright bigotry is repugnant, same as the oft-played theme on Rogoff of 'Islam must be wiped out'.

Nov-22-15  morfishine: <thegoldenband> This is not a pun, it is not sublime, however it is "sub"...

Hilarious! And this very well may be your funniest post of all time.

I may not always agree with you, but I thank you for the guffaws.

Nov-22-15  thegoodanarchist: <morfishine: <thegoldenband> This is not a pun,>

Per usual, it now seems, for GOTD titles.

< it is not sublime, however it is "sub"...>

For me, it is somewhere in between. I would describe it as "not a terrible attempt at being witty."

Nov-23-15  kevin86: a bad week for great champs?
Nov-24-15  MarkFinan: Morf.. I couldn't post this in your forum so I'll leave it here until you've watched it and it gets deleted.... Greatest midfield player ever! A royal command performance from Zizou :https://youtu.be/ZBge_W2GsBk
Nov-26-15  morfishine: <MarkFinan> Thank you sir for that video clip. I'm now convinced that Messi is the greatest, and there really is no doubt in my mind; yet you've taken the time to highlight Zidane, who you know is my favorite

Perhaps, I've gone a bit overboard following his heroic efforts in winning the cup in 1998, but I think you have focused in on perfect clarity: Zidane may have been the greatest midfielder, but Messi is the greatest FOOTBALLER

While I think that correctly identifies our thoughts on this subject, I will always defer to your judgement

I am your obedient servant, morf

Game was decided by 23. ... Bxd5?? (h6! or h5!)

If Carlsen didn't blunder 32. ... Rxb3?? and played Re8!, Hammer would have had hard time to secure win
