Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-25-14  Mating Net: Capturing White's a & c pawns brought nothing but misery for Black, no profit whatsoever.
Aug-26-14  Mudphudder: So why did Sax not play 23.a7 (23...Qa6 24.a8=Q+ Qxa8 25.Qxa8+)
Aug-26-14  Mating Net: While it would have been a strong move, there is no need to rush the pawn to a7 push as White has so many threats. 23.Ng5 brings the last piece into the attack and maintains the promotion threat as well as the mate on c7 threat. Incidentally, <Mudphudder> 23...Qa6 in your proposed line would lead to mate after 24.Qxc7#.
Aug-26-14  Mudphudder: Ohh yes, I didn't even realize there was an even more immediate mate threat on c7! So then it looks like 23.a7 was even a stronger move that I had initially thought!

(No self-flattery intended here...)

Aug-27-14  alfiepa: Ah Ah Ah
Joshua Waitzkin was the " new Bobby Fischer" ?

fredthebear: There are some Saxy moves in this game. I put 27.Bb6 Re7 28.Qd6 up for consideration.
