  fredthebear: If 18.KxNg2 then 18...Nf4+ wins the loose Bd3. If White does not take, the Re1 is left hanging. White chose to counterattack a more important piece w/18.Bb5 but then Black also countered w/a threat by playing 18...18.Qd6 aiming to take the other White Ra3. Climbing to the 6th rank is also a useful for Her Majesty. The open g-file proved decisive a few moves later.
