May-30-13  Mudphudder: I just wanted to be the first to say that THIS GAME is CRAZY! Loved the tactical maneuver of 17.Nf5 then later followed by 19.Nxg7 that just sets of a series of attacks by both sides! Culminating in the awesome 27.Re5!!
Nov-27-13  fisayo123: <Mudphudder> great stuff
Jan-01-14  iking: GOTD: Wei High
Mar-24-14  Whitehat1963: Absolutely brilliant tactics! This kid is one to watch!
Nov-12-15  Moszkowski012273: Gotta say the move I liked MOST outta this one was 25.Kb1...
Nov-12-15  sfm: <Moszkowski012273: Gotta say the move I liked MOST outta this one was 25.Kb1...> Right! Cold as ice. White wants to play Qxh6 and mate, but Black will answer Qxc3+. So we simply move the king away. Black gets an extra tempo, but the plan can't be stopped in any good way.
Nov-12-15  Emmykarpov: Woow!! there was really no Wei Out
Nov-12-15  paavoh: Just fabulous! 17.Nf5, 25.Kb1, 27.Re5, star moves all around.
Nov-12-15  morfishine: <CG> asked people to not submit play-on-word for tired, worn-out names, like Tal, Short, Sax, Miles, So and Wei. Yet, somebody ignores this request and <CG> accepts it anyways??? smh

Check It Out: Zhou are Wei too grumpy about the puns, morf.
Nov-12-15  kevin86: The queen can guard the king's position...until a rook gums up the works for black.
Nov-12-15  waustad: Macaronic humor abounds here.

"cg.com accepts it anyway" - That is the Tal and the Short of it.

Which reminds me, I need to search for a good game between Tal and Short, for my next pun submission...

Nov-12-15  waustad: Considering the uses of variations of "macaroni," this is one of the more interesting. Late 18th century fops were following the macaroni style in Britain. The use here, "denoting language, especially burlesque verse, containing words or inflections from one language introduced into the context of another," stolen from my online dictionary (please accept my apology) is actually a cognate with the pasta we've immediately considered.
Nov-12-15  BOSTER: < sfm: cold as ice>. But playing 24.Rh2 overprotecting b2 pawn, white lost a tempo, and black'd play Re8, and if Qxh6 Bf8. Maybe white'll win, but not brilliance.
Nov-12-15  newhampshireboy: The nonsense about macaroons has to stop now!
Sep-27-16  SpiritedReposte: Some Sicilian fireworks.
