Feb-05-13  wordfunph: after 33...Qe7, my proud 1218 saw it coming 34.Rxf8+ and the bish on g2 joins the party.

1-0

Mar-17-17  Cheapo by the Dozen: The last move would be a good, albeit easy, Tuesday puzzle. Or a Monday on the harder side.

The effects of the forthcoming h7+ are a bit subtle, so I'm thinking Tuesday.

  offramp: It's a Stupak shaker.
Mar-17-17  paavoh: Didn't this GOTD have another pun attached earlier today, "I'm with Stupak" or something like that?!
Mar-17-17  mjmorri: With 31...exd4, Black says "Show me", and White is happy to oblige.

  HeMateMe: There was a fad T-shirt that came out 20 years ago in the USA:

<http://thumbs3.ebaystatic.com/d/l22...>

It's a harmless pun, nothing to do with the talented players in the above game.

Mar-17-17  Bruce Graham: Players' names contain confusing consonant clusters.
Mar-17-17  carlomix: Never heard anymore about him since his eztraordinary win over Anish Giri. Really impressive, i can almost remember each move. Has he left chess?
Mar-17-17  ChessHigherCat: <Bruce Graham: Players' names contain confusing consonant clusters.>

It was names like those that led the US Air Force to conduct a massive humanitarian vowel-dropping campaign during the war in ex-Yugoslavia.

On move 25. I bet white was thinking, "If only the black queen weren't on d8 then I could play g5 and then black considerately played 26. Qd6 allowing g5.

Mar-17-17  morfishine: "I'm with Stupid" was mysteriously changed to "Stupified" mid-stream. Whats up with that?

"Black got Kirilled" is much better than these two lemons, but thats the norm around here

In any case, a wonderful combination of imperishable brilliance

Mar-18-17  Olsonist: I think after after 33...Qe7 Rf8 better than adding the bishop on g2 to the party, is QxR (forced) QxB+ and then Black has something else to do today.

I hope you are not referring to the imperishably brilliant and wonderful combination of the words "Black got Kirilled", which you seem to be holding up to us as shining example of the ultimate pun, deeply relevant to the game and unspeakably witty.
