Feb-23-03 | | drukenknight: Here is the game said to have refuted the Fajarowicz version, in this game what about 7...Ng3? THe maddening thing about this defense, is that even when I manage to capture the R on h8, I am often in more trouble! is there something wrong w/ 11...Qf7? I am going fast here so maybe I am missing something. |
Feb-23-03 | | actual: This looks like the kind of opening play I stumble into when I don't know what I'm doing. |
Feb-23-03 | | drukenknight: do you know how many times I have produced that B/N battery with the N on g3? A lot.
Do you know how many games I've actually won with this dee? Not many. |
Feb-23-03 | | drukenknight: 7...Ng3 8 e4 Nxh1 9 exf5 |

Feb-23-03 | | JGD: isn't the resignation a bit premature here. What is white's fastest way to win? |
Feb-24-03 | | drukenknight: you know you may have a pt. jgd. But since its Bisguier's turn to move, so you've got to suggest something for him. |

 | | Honza Cervenka: I don't think that it is premature. White is up with material and black has no reasonable defence against threat 25.Nd4 with intention 26.Bxe5 and 27.Nxc6+ or 26.Nxc6+ Nxc6 27.Qxc6 with next Bxd6 or Be4 etc. The only move seems to be 24...Rc8 after which white can continue 25.Nd4 Rc7 26.Bh3 (threatening with Bg2) 26...Qh7 (do you see anything better?) 27.Nf5 Be7 28.Nb5 cxb5 29.Bg2 Nc6 30.Nxe7 Qxe7 31.Qxe7 Nxe7 32.Bxd6 etc. But there are much more ways to win this game. |
Feb-26-03 | | atripodi: what happens if 17...Nxg4? |
Feb-26-03 | | AgentRgent: I think probably 18.Qh5+ and 19. Qxg4 |
Feb-26-03 | | atripodi: is that exchange not in blacks best interest (sorry, this whole "refutation" is way over my head)? |

May-01-04 | | Benjamin Lau: IBM: your line is impossible. |

May-02-04 | | InspiredByMorphy: My apologies Benjamin Lau. I wasnt thinking straight, and should be suspended from my chess pieces for the night! :) |

May-02-04 | | Benjamin Lau: Lol, same here. Have a good rest. |

Apr-05-11 | | sfm: <Themindset: crafty gives the following...>
I tried it. OK, it sucks, but I'd have played on. |
Apr-05-11 | | DWINS: I decided to see if today's chess engines could improve on Crafty's analysis from seven years ago and it definitely can. Black is completely busted here. Houdini 1.5a gives 24...Rc8 25. c5 bxc5 26. Nxc5 dxc5 27. Rd7 Qxd7 28. Bxd7 a5 and says that this is a mate in 11 starting with 29. Bxc6 |

Feb-19-13 | | jerseybob: This is a duplicate post. |
Feb-18-14 | | jerseybob: To play a defense like this against a Reshevsky is suicidal, as Denker discovered 20 years before this game at Syracuse 1934. |

Feb-04-22
 | | Fusilli: Bisguier: "What the hell, let's just play a wacko defense and sac material for no reason. After all, it's just Reshevsky!" Reshevsky: What the...? Load! Aim! Fire!! |
