Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-03-10  JohnBoy: Clearly what is missing is 51...Nf1+, and then the remaining moves make sense. GC ought to correct this.
Jul-03-10  Peter Nemenyi: Black's fifty-first move has been omitted from the score. The game presumably ended 51...Nf1+ 52. Kh1 Ng3+ 53. Kh2 with a perpetual.
Oct-08-10  TheFocus: I and <parisattack> submitted these three training games. Originally they appeared in <Bobby Fischer Uncensored> by David DeLucia.

There were ten games in all. Each player White 5 times.

In his next book, perhaps DeLucia will release the other seven.

The game was originally posted on 11/6/2010 with a correct game-score. <CG> has made the mistake here.

Today is the first time that I have seen them on <CG>.

Apr-11-12  ephesians: Fischer seems to have exchanged off the g7 bishop more in this match than I remember him typically doing.
Jun-01-16  Caissanist: All ten games have now been published, per Edward Winter: http://www.chesshistory.com/winter/... .

The remaining seven games are reconstructed from scoresheets given in the followup volume, <Bobby Fischer Triumph and Despair>, by Allesandra DeLucia (David's daughter). That book can now be ordered from from <New in Chess>, for a mere $550.

Jan-09-17  TheFocus: Shame that the other seven games have not been submitted.

Hmmm, I wonder if <MissScarlett> would approve of me submitting them?

And the rest of the missing Fischer games?

I hope she doesn't say the same as Rhett did.

Fischer grabs a hot pawn in the opening. Here Gligoric can win the exchange one of two ways. He opts for 33 Ne6 but after 33 Nd3 Qg6 34 Nxe5 looks to have the best of it. Quite reasonably, though, Gligoric plays to capture both exchanges.

After 33 Ne6 Qf6 34 Nxg7 Kxg7 the natural 35 Bb2 was played exploiting multiple pins along the long diagonal. Fischer, however, got out of jail with the shot 35..Ng3! Better was 35 Bf4 but the continuation 35..Ng5 36 Bxe5 Nxf3+ 37 gxf3! (opening the g-file) is far from obvious.

38..f4 was extremely double-edged. Much more natural was to get out of the pin with 38..Kg8 when 39 Bxe5 Nxe5 40 Rf4 Ng6 invites a draw by repetition. But after 39 Bxg6 Kxg6 Gligoric refrained from capturing the exchange and overplays his hand.

At the death, Black conedes a draw with 46..Bxf3. Going for mate with 46..Nf5 is winning.
