Sep-27-08  maxxowar: 77.g4! hxg4? 78.h5! and black loses immediately. Maybe 77...Axg4 78.Kxc3 could hold more for black.
Sep-29-08  goldenbear: <maxxowar> 82.Kf6 looks like an obvious draw to me.
Sep-29-08  slomarko: 82...Kf6 losses to 83.Rf2

next white will play Rf5 and the pawn promotes.

Jimfromprovidence: This match provides another great endgame study from this tournament, just like Kaidanov vs V Mikhalevski, 2008

The text position after 81...Ke7 82 Rxg2 Kf8 83 Rxg5, is a table base win for white.

However, black missed a sure draw with 81...Bg6! Now, after 82 Rxg2 Ke6 83 Rxg5 Kf6 below, the position is a table base draw.

In the latter case, white's rook cannot prevent the black king from reaching the h8 square.

This will enable the black bishop and king to keep the white king from assisting in the pawn’s promotion.
