Mar-06-08  Marmot PFL: Isn't black lost anyway though?
Mar-06-08  Marmot PFL: d5 Rd4 Rg7+ Hh8 Rxg5 seems hopeless

fm avari viraf: Topa has many choices 42.Rd6, Rd7 & 42.Rg7+ picking up the g-pawn.
Mar-06-08  whiteshark: After 41...Re4? white can force a ♖exchange connecting his center pawns with <42.Rg7+ Kh8 43.Re7! Rxe7> (no way to play other moves) <44.fxe7 Re8 45. Ra7 > and advancing of the d-pawn.....

  chancho: This is almost over...
Mar-06-08  Marmot PFL: Funny how Topalov beats Leko, Leko beats Carlsen and Carsen beats Topalov.
Mar-06-08  panzerkampf: what happens if Rxd4?
Mar-06-08  luzhin: ..then Raa7 and it's mate, because if Leko takes on f6 then rook to the eighth check.
Mar-06-08  zanshin: Not even Topalov can blunder this one away ;-)
Mar-06-08  whiteshark: <Marmot PFL: Funny how Topalov beats Leko, Leko beats Carlsen and Carsen beats Topalov.> Call it a zero-sum situation. :D
Mar-06-08  panzerkampf: even i can win this position by white

chancho: The dancing rook with Topa's face will show up soon.
Mar-06-08  percyblakeney: Topalov has played rather well in this Linares, a couple of the traditional blunders keeps him at +1, but that's no disaster in such a strong tournament.

Open Defence: One, two, three o'clock, four o'clock, rock,
Five, six, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, rook,
Nine, ten, eleven o'clock, twelve o'clock, rook,
We're gonna rook around Leko tonight.

Put your Knight on e5 and Rook on a1,
We'll have some fun when the clock strikes one,
We're gonna rook around Leko tonight,
We're gonna rook, rook, rook, 'til broad daylight.
We're gonna rook, gonna rook, around the Leko tonight.

Mar-06-08  whiteshark: It's back to the drawing board.
Mar-06-08  ajile: What's the move order now to win?

Open Defence: what do the comps say +7 or something ?
Mar-06-08  muharrem: it was going to be d7 and then Rc8
Mar-06-08  Jack Kerouac: Argghh! That's a scary sight!
Mar-06-08  MorganV2851: topalov head on dancing rook!
Mar-06-08  duchamp64: Threat if Rc8. If Ke8 d7+ Kxe7 Rc8.
Mar-06-08  panzerkampf: i think d7, followed by Rc8 wins
Mar-06-08  theodor: 49.D7
