Oct-03-07  tal lover: Something is wrong in this game 33...Qxe3
Oct-03-07  tal lover: Ithink its 33...Nxe3 in view of the checks that black gives
Oct-03-07  Resignation Trap: This score <is> messed up, that's for sure! Maybe the corrected score will appear on the official site in a few more days after they are notified.
Oct-04-07  notyetagm: Wow, check out the four knights in the position after 28 ♘f3-g5:

Oct-04-07  gregorivus: Haha, that's a pretty stable in the king-side.
Oct-04-07  tjoffy: But it is not just the knights. Except for the position of the two queens, the whole position is symmetric at move 28 with many pieces still on the board. Gotta check Tim Krabbés page...
Oct-04-07  psmith: This is exactly the score given on the official site. It is a mystery, but 33... Nxe3 can't be followed by 34. Kf1 (illegal) so at least what is given is legal.

Things would make more sense if the pawn on f2 wasn't there. (Then Qxe3 is check, the King has to move to f1, Qf4 is check...) Could it somehow have been accidentally removed from the board at some point?

Oct-04-07  psmith: I dunno, this really doesn't make sense. After all 33...Qxf2+ is a simple mate in the position given in the score. Suggests something is wrong before that. And 34... Qxf2 is mate.

I think what <tal lover> meant is 33...Nxe3 34.fxe3 Qxe3+ and so on. This doesn't cause direct any problems later on; you just have to omit the weird-looking 40...Nxf2 41.Kxf2. This of course doesn't mean it's right.

Oct-12-07  tal lover: <SwitchingQuylthulg> Thank you, exactly what I tried to say
