Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-20-07  setebos: Carlsen`s rating has taken a dramatic drop. He is now 269 ELO :-)
Mar-20-07  technical draw: <Setebos> Well, if he does good at Amber he might up it to 300.
Mar-20-07  aragorn69: Perfect technique from Aronian. He just makes it appear so easy to win those English / Catalan fianchetto structures !
Mar-20-07  aragorn69: However, on reviewing other kibitzes (<acirce>'s among others) at the main page, it seems that Magnus would have had a way to save that endgame. But that would have required a precision hard to attain in rapid play...
Mar-20-07  nikolajewitsch: <But that would have required a precision hard to attain in rapid play...> Not only rapid but actually blindfold with less than a minute on the clock...the possibility of drawing becomes pretty theoretical under these circumstances.
Mar-21-07  Atking: <nikolajewitsch: <But that would have required a precision hard to attain in rapid play...> Not only rapid but actually blindfold with less than a minute on the clock...the possibility of drawing becomes pretty theoretical under these circumstances.> Yes Indeed. But yesterday I really though that Carlsen will make it. He haved only 1mn to almost 10 mn for Aronian and still resisted in a very difficult position. Try to play a blitz game with some this time handicap (Even with increment) against one the best in the world. Incredible. Of course I was impressed by Aronian's technique but I was more impressed by Carlsen's resistance. Give one or two years to this guy... he will be very dangerous.

His results at Linares-Morelia must not yet have been processed ... ;-)

Mar-22-07  Resignation Trap: Based on this photo, I'd say that Aronian hadn't had his share of hors d'oeuvres, and that a worried Carlsen was next on his menu: http://www.chesspro.ru/_images/mate... .

Interesting photo, to put it mild.
