Kibitzer's Corner
Oct-21-06  melianis: better 2.Nc6
Feb-09-07  KKW: I agree
Feb-09-07  Tomlinsky: The main idea behind the Brazilian Defence seems to be the adoption of a poor Philidor setup as far as I can make out.
Aug-15-09  YoungEd: I agree with <Tomlinksy>. Black had to know at the end that taking the rook would be death, don't you think?
Aug-15-09  whiteshark: 5... Bg4 looks just wrong. Only 5...h6 and 6...Nf6 seems to be right.
Aug-15-09  parisattack: I had decent success with the Brazilian/Gunderdam. But, yes, 5. ...Bg4 definately is a Count Isouard kind-of-move.
Aug-15-09  utrarapido: A Brazilian - isn't that something you try out with your girlfriend, not on the chess board?
Aug-30-10  jackpawn: That turned bad really quick, didn't it?

Margin for error can be really small on these offbeat defenses.

Mar-09-11  psmith: Why not 6...Bxf3?
