Oct-19-05  SnoopDogg: Is it just me or does anyone feel we are going to see a few more wins in this Ne7 to g6 variation of the Berlin ever since Topalov popularized it in Judit Polgar vs Topalov, 2005?
Oct-19-05  MoonlitKnight: 29...Nd4 was a very nice move by Naiditsch. It's hard to see where Bologan went wrong in the following endgame.
Dec-25-05  azaris: There was:

24. Nxg7!? Nxg7 25. e6 f6 26. Nxf6 Nf5 27. g4 Rf8 (<27...Bxf6? 28. Bxf6 Rf8 29. Be5 Nd4 30. Bxd4 cxd4 31. f5 and wins>) 28. Nd5 Bxd5 29. cxd5 Nd4 30. e7 Bxe7 31. Rxe7 Rxf4 32. Kg2 with good chances.

plang: 13 Bb2 had been played in Netzer-Pavasovic Salzburg 2004 where Black went on to win; 13 a4 was new.

<azaris: There was:

24. Nxg7!? Nxg7 25. e6 f6 26. Nxf6 Nf5 27. g4 Rf8> Another continuation in this line is 27..Nd4 28 Nd5..Bh4 29 Rd1..Re8 30 f5..Bxd5 31 cxd..Bf6 with a small edge for Black.

After 27 Nd3? Black quickly developed a big advantage; 27 Be3 was better. 28 Re3?..Rxd3 29 Rxd3..Be4 would not have helped White. 31 Rf1..Rxb3 32 Rxf7..Rb2+ 33 Kg1..Re2 would have been strong for Black. 32..c5 would have been more accurate.
