Oct-14-05  azaris: Wow, the exciting Topalov, Anand and Svidler all drew in less than 20 today. They sure are showing Kramnik a thing or too about fighting spirit.
Oct-14-05  Rawprawn: Moro - Adams is worth a look
Oct-14-05  Robin01: <With a Queen exchange does Black have better endgame chances?> I would say "yes."
Oct-14-05  suenteus po 147: I would say switch over, but by the time it's set up the other games will be drawn too.
Oct-14-05  postman1: ho-hum
Oct-14-05  Knight13: Okay, man. Draw. What the cool!? That was a boring move.
Oct-14-05  Robin01: <Wow, the exciting Topalov, Anand and Svidler all drew in less than 20 today. They sure are showing Kramnik a thing or too about fighting spirit.> Topalov and Anand I can understand. Svidler's play has a fowl odor to it!

tpstar: <chessgames.com> Thanks for the live broadcast.

<azaris> You're right. ;>D

Oct-14-05  who: Svidler shouldn't have accepted a draw. Anand may have missed 19...Bxe7!!!
Oct-14-05  who: The only winning move.

  Sneaky: Well, poo.
Oct-14-05  chaco attax: will there be another live chess today?
Oct-14-05  Knight13: <Svidler shouldn't have accepted a draw. Anand may have missed 19...Bxe7!!!> Okay, man. Next time, when your opponent hangs a queen, don't take it ;)
Oct-14-05  Landman: Hey, at least 19.Qxe7 threatens mate in one. ;P

cu8sfan: <acirce> It was so a prediction, I was quoting the ICC guessthemove.
Oct-14-05  Gypsy: < Benzol: With a Queen exchange does Black have better endgame chances?> But not enough. That knight will find good squares in the center, lest the d-pawn will get behind.
Oct-14-05  underrated: <who: Svidler shouldn't have accepted a draw. Anand may have missed 19...Bxe7!!!> with less than an hour to find that move i might have been tough!!!
Oct-14-05  svbabu: <who: Svidler shouldn't have accepted a draw. Anand may have missed 19...Bxe7!!!>

I thought the draw was offered by Svidler and not Anand.

Oct-14-05  acirce: <cu8sfan> Yeah, I know. It catched the "Nf3" in an off-topic conversation about opening moves for White.

cu8sfan: That's funny, I thought you had to explicitely use 'tell guessthemove XXX'. In that case it's even better!
Oct-14-05  Gypsy: 19.Qxe7 Bxe7 20.Re1 Kf8! -- thus we see <who>'s gamesaving <Kf8> after all!

Does it indeed 'save' the game? Well, 20...Bf6?? 21.Re8#, or 20...Be6? 21.f5; are not good at all. Ok, 20...Bf8 21.Re8 g6 ... is not immediately lost. But it is not completely even either.

Oct-14-05  Queens Gambit: A boring short draw as i supposed, coming not from Anand-Svidler but from Drawnand-Drawvdler
Oct-14-05  dhotts: Doesn't Black drop a pawn with 19...Bxe7 20.Re1 Kf8 21.Bxh7 and White is a solid pawn to the good. Why did White accept/offer the draw?
Oct-14-05  AlexanderMorphy: who get's second place now?
Oct-14-05  Gypsy: <dhotts: Doesn't Black drop a pawn with 19...Bxe7 20.Re1 Kf8 21.Bxh7 and White is a solid pawn to the good. Why did White accept/offer the draw?> Because the h7 pawn is toxic; 21...g6 would trap the bishop.
