chessgames.com: White didn't resign, Black resigned! White wins easily by pushing the g-pawn, willing to sacrifice the rook for the b pawn if necessary.
Sep-16-05  Holden: Wow, the Mokele Mbembe! I saw an article on Chessville.com on this variation of Alekhine's defense. Cool to see a strong player try such an unusual variation.

I see this opening sometimes on FICS or Yahoo. I like 3. d4 in response to 2. ... Ne4, but I'm no master.

Oct-17-05  hamworld: ahh all right
May-05-07  whiteshark: Many rook endings are drawn,

e.g.
35. g4 draws.
35... Rxh5 draws.
36... b4 draws.
38... Kxe5 draws.

until you have to play them....

May-06-07  bystander: <Holden> Stefan Buecker wrote 3 articles about the Mokele Mbembe recently. He prefers 3)d4 too... http://www.chesscafe.com/kaissiber/...
