Apr-08-07  MasterSavely: that is a beautiful mate.
Jun-27-09  just a kid: Rest of the game was a blowout.
Apr-16-17  sneaky pete: The Big Mac gave QR odds here, as usual when playing against NN. Without the odds, in this position after 17 moves

he would have played 18.Rxd7 .. or 18.Rd1 ..

This game is in the first book, the Rook odds games, of <A Selection of Games at Chess, actually played in London, by the late Alexander M'Donnell, Esq., the best English player, with his principal contemporaries, etc.> by William Greenwood Walker, published in 1836.

"Twelfth Game - Mr. M'Donnell gives Mr. F***** the Rook." I wonder if that could be Fraser, with whom he played 5 games on even terms in 1831. Some QR odds games recorded earlier in this part of the book are with Mr. F****, which I suspect is Finch.
