  offramp: Very unusual.
For the white king to go to h8 in the middle game may well ne unique.
Dec-27-05  syracrophy: Jajajaja! That king was running so funny through enemy's territory, with no chance for black to mate him! This is a unique game! This is not seen every day!

After 27...Rd6 28.Qd8++

Dec-07-08  WhiteRook48: Why don't my opponents resign when I play Bc4?
Dec-07-08  whiteshark: <Rh1> - the lazy bum of the game.
Dec-07-08  whiteshark: and no party did castellani.
Dec-10-08  WhiteRook48: :P who cares about a party anyway?
Dec-20-08  whiteshark: Indeed it is.
Dec-20-08  WhiteRook48: Indeed what is?? Actually during when I was choosing my username I was thinking of choosing <The Bc1> as a user.
Dec-23-08  WhiteRook48: amusing early king development... but if I'd chosen "The Bc1" as a user (see my earlier post) then I would've died in this game
Jan-02-09  WhiteRook48: "how to develop your king early so he can raid the flanks, all the while marching around." -Ruitenburg (who is this guy??)
Jan-19-09  WhiteRook48: I just don't get 7. Kf2 to begin with.
Jan-25-09  WhiteRook48: wow, nice king walk to victory
Jan-27-09  WhiteRook48: 11.... Bxe3+?? blunders a piece
Jan-28-09  WhiteRook48: I was actually the Ra1 in this game, the players misplaced me on the wrong square... Ha ha ha
Feb-03-09  WhiteRook48: a good leader fights at the front
Feb-04-09  WhiteRook48: on the other hand, maybe Black was trying to do a king hunt
Feb-05-09  WhiteRook48: for some reason I keep looking at this game multiple times a day

GrahamClayton: 18..ef5?? 19.♗b5+ - the centralised White King is a key attacking piece - Wilhelm Steinitz would have approved of Van Ruitenberg's play!
May-12-11  whitesupremacist: Ruitenburg is the King of Kings!!! Great talent!!!
Apr-21-14  backyard pawn: Nice! White switched back ranks!

Phony Benoni: The pun is a takeoff on an investment book, "A Random Walk Down Wall Street" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Rand...). Such strategies may pay off in the fantasy world of the corporate boardroom, but not as often in the cold, hard reality of the chessboard.

It's not that hard to get your king to rook eight in the middle game. Winning is somewhat more difficult. One of the few comparable games I know of is C Van de Loo vs M Hesseling, 1983, though R Steel vs NN, 1886 rates an Honorable Mention.
