Jun-23-04  Whitehat1963: I don't understand white's rook moves at the end. Can someone explain?

tpstar: <Whitehat1963> White is up the exchange and kept his Pd5 around (26. Bc4!) as the quickest way to win. 28. Rb1 protects the Pb3, threatening 29. Bxa6; Black played 28 ... Bc3, probably intending 29 ... a5, but then 29. Rd1 and the passed Pawn must be pushed once the back rank is OK. After 29 ... a5 30. Kg1 Bd4 31. Kf1 or 30 ... Bb4 31. Ra2 & 32. Re2 the Bishop can't help blockade on the d file in time, so White should crash through soon.

fredthebear: Nakamura became a grandmaster in 2003, at age 15 years and 79 days. He was the youngest American to earn the GM title at the time, breaking the record of Bobby Fischer by three months.
