Jan-28-07  WarmasterKron: A very strange opening, this. Apparently 2...h5 is the English Drill and it's not what you expect in a correspondence game.

FSR: An entertaining and unusual hyper-miniature, in a correspondence game no less. Both players are International Masters over the board! Sam Shankland in Part 3 of his Chessable course on the Neo-Catalan (1.c4 and 2.g3) recommends 3.Nf3 e4 4.Nh4 Be7 (or 4...g5?! 5.Ng2) 5.Nf5 d5 6.Nxe7 Nxe7 7.cxd5 Nxd5 8.Bg2 (stronger than winning a pawn with 8.Qa4+).
