Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-01-03  Lawrence: White's Queen is trapped down at the end of a long lonely gulch, and the only way to save her is to sacrifice the cavalry. 11.Ne4 fxe4 12.dxe4 Bf5.
Feb-16-04  InspiredByMorphy: Why is 11.d4 Bb4 12.Ne5 not an option for white? I still root for black though, dont get me wrong :)
Feb-16-04  notsodeepthought: Or 11 Ne5 with the option of 12 d4 (or f4) and 13 f4 (or d4). Black still stands better, but has some work to do. I am ashamed - sort of - to admit I won a game as white in this position, which of course only shows black was an even worse player.
Mar-26-04  nikolaas: Why not simply 11.♕d1 to play ♗e2?
Sep-08-04  littleshiva: 11. Qd1 Bh4+ 12. Be2 Ne3 and the WQ is trapped !
Sep-12-04  John Doe: One could say white's defense is full of holes.
Sep-22-05  Happypuppet: Who was it that had the "punny games" collection? The quote above is a good one to add.
Feb-19-06  patzer2: Black's 10...Re8! threatens a winning pin, that White can avoid only at the cost of giving up decisive material.
Jul-29-06  MichaelJHuman: 9. Nc4?

Apr-16-07  whiteshark: <NRW 1792> lol

Feb-01-08  wolfmaster: John Doe took my pun:)
Jul-25-09  just a kid: Nice miniature.
Apr-19-10  Antiochus: Game played in 1987!
May-20-12  YoungEd: If 11. ♕d1 in an effort to save the queen, then 11...♗h4+ 12. ♗e2 ♘e3 wins the ♕ anyway because the f-pawn is pinned.
Jul-01-13  whiteshark: The buck stops here!
Jul-14-15  sneaky pete: The buck never stops! 196 years later Ludger Hols challenged Buecker for a grudge game: http://chess-db.com/public/game.jsp...

Their next NRW championship meeting is scheduled for 2184.

Apr-07-21  magic1949: 6 Nxe4 is winning for White.
-- 8.d4 is = but 8. 8d3? gives Black the advantage -- after 9...f5 10 Nc3 was the only try to survive, -- the suggested 11.Ne5 Bf6 12.d4 loses simply to 12...Nc6 with a capture on d4 or exchanges on e5 to follow. One amusing line is 13.Qc4 Bxe5 14.dxe5 Nxe5 15.Qe2 Nf4 16.Qe3 Ng4
