An Englishman: Good Evening: An astonishing game, full of twists and turns you won't believe. White looks busted, hopelessly busted, out of the opening, and yet starting with 19.Qa8+ Van Tongerloo begins to slowly push Black further and further back. The combination beginning with White's 30th move is simple but very attractive. I have no idea how much of this was sound, but it's very entertaining.
Apr-04-05  Rocafella: For black what about 4.Qh4+ and then followed by 5.g3 and then 5.Nxg3.... that seems good to me unless im missing something... please help me! I'm hopeless

  tpstar: <Rocafella> Look at 4 ... Qh4+?! 5. g3 Nxg3 6. Nf3 hitting the Queen and preventing any Discovered Check. Then 6 ... Qh3? 7. Bxf7+! ruins Black's game (7 ... Kxf7 8. Ng5+, otherwise 8. Rg1) or 6 ... Qh5 7. Rg1 Nf5 8. Rg5 Qh3 9. Bf1 wins a piece. One popular line is 4. Qh5 Nd6 Opening Explorer instead of 4. f4!?
Apr-04-05  Rocafella: <tpstar> pardon my ignorance, im a bit rusty, I haven't been playing for a few months, sorry about that, I seriously need some lessons :)

tpstar: <Rocafella> Dude, that's why we come here! :>) That was a very good question, just remember that early Queen development often backfires. Keep at it.
Apr-04-05  Rocafella: hehe thanks tpstar, you obviously know much more about the game than i do, I'm a 14 y/o beginner what do i know :o)
Jun-06-09  WhiteRook48: 4 f4?! is dubious, what about 4...exf4?
Sep-14-12  Abdel Irada: What an insidious trap White set with 24. b4!. Black must have been sorely tempted to play 24. ...cxb3†, an en passant capture which looks as though it wins the queen. Unfortunately, White would reply 25. ♗xb3†, winning the undefended bishop on a6.
Jan-15-21  Atking: I should be prudent toward a correspondence game but simply 16....cxd seems crushing.

fredthebear: Reference the original and only rated game that David Bronstein played as White in this line (Paul Keres inserted 3...Nc6 before the common 4...Nxe4): Bronstein vs Keres, 1971
