Sep-18-08  Shams: <Why hang that a pawn?!> 20...b6 21.♕a6+ ♔b8 22.♗xb6 axb6 23.♕xb6+ followed by ♖d3 looks fatal.
Sep-18-08  Chris1Clark: As someone who works in a bank I am expecting some games played by someone called Lehman, M. Lynch or Crunchovski. I assume they will be some fools mate that we are supposed to ooh and ahh at.
Sep-18-08  medstu56: Women-can't drive, can't play chess
Sep-18-08  Riverbeast: If Sarah 'Barracuda' Palin could play chess...This is probably the kind of vapid crap she would play

FSR: Hey, don't dis Caribou Barbie!
Sep-18-08  Jim Bartle: Aha, another Stephanie Miller fan? About time.
Sep-18-08  Jim Bartle: I think what's funny is that AIG is the major sponsor of Manchester United, its logo is on the front of the jerseys. So if the USA now owns 80% of AIG, do we own a piece of Man U as well?

FSR: I am indeed a Stephanie Miller fan, but I first encountered "Caribou Barbie" in a comment on dailykos.com. Fortunately, there are no games in chessgames.com's database by anyone named Obama, McCain, Palin, or Biden, so we evidently won't be seeing any of their efforts as Games of the Day.
Sep-18-08  ILikeFruits: please...
dont hate palin...
shes cute...
i like her...
:)
Sep-18-08  Shams: that's hilarious. I haven't listened to Stephanie Miller in a while (the bells and whistles annoy me) but it's a great line.
Sep-18-08  Jim Bartle: Daily Kos??? You America-hating far-left radical!!

Actually, it hadn't occurred to me that Stephanie had picked up the Caribou Barbie from someone else. It's so perfect.

BTW, there is a "Barak" in the database.

FSR: Hey, my user ID on Daily Kos is 259, so I'm one of the ORIGINAL America-hating far-left radicals, not some Johnny-come-lately.

FSR: OMG, there's actually a www.CaribouBarbie.com! It features this classic quote by some unnamed person: " . . . since when is being able to shoot something a prerequisite for office? While I will say that she has better aim than our current Vice President, I do not think that entitles her to the position."
Sep-18-08  Xeroxx: Let us sing together like true mccain lovers: Oh, say, can you see, by the dawn's early light...
Sep-18-08  Jim Bartle: ...what so proudly we hailed, at the banking system's last gleaming.
Sep-18-08  Riverbeast: Did you hear Palin actually said something like "Russia is visible from Alaska."

This is supposed to mean she's 'international'....Even though she apparently got her first passport only last year.

Even other Republicans are laughing at her...Now THAT'S bad....

Just smile and look cute, Barbie...Try not to say anything....

Sep-18-08  Jim Bartle: Also, McCain was interviewed for a Spanish newspaper and Venezuelan radio, and either didn't recognize the name of the prime minister of Spain, thought Spain is in Latin America, or actually considers Spain a possible enemy of the US. Amazing.

And as I think Rachel Maddow said, "I can see the moon from my house, so can I be head of NASA?"

Sep-18-08  Riverbeast: Another Republican mental giant...They just seem to crank them out
Sep-18-08  Jim Bartle: Speaking of which, did you see Palin's interview with Sean Hannity (no Colmes), where she defended McCain's comments on the "fundamentals" of the economy by referring to the "verbage" several times.

Apparently she was trying to say "verbiage."

FSR: Palin's college degree is in Communications, mind you. Too bad they never taught her how to say "verbiage."
Sep-18-08  jovack: republicans fail so hard

obama is better than mccain by far, but the democrats are no better than the republicans

americans, vote for the green party

Sep-19-08  Jim Bartle: Democrats fall well short of perfect, but considering the alternative the choice is clear. I get your point, but a vote for the greens or any third party is purely symbolic.

IMO the best strategy is to fight inside the Democratic party, supporting the Feingolds, Franks, Waxmans, etc., as well as independent senator Bernie Sanders.

Sep-19-08  drpoundsign: got "Legally Blonde" on tape. "Malibu Barbie." LOL Pallin birthed a mongoloid baby. should used a coat hanger. No wonder there's too much entitlements. I wanted Hillary b/c she can WIN..Florida and maybe some other southern states. Obama could be the African American McGovern and McCain is just plain scary!
Sep-19-08  drpoundsign: women can equal us in most Mental games. Bobby Riggs Billy Jean was symbolic only b/c he was already OLD. I'm surprised the WIlliams sisters cannot beat low ranked men. They are too good for most white girls so do not fit in there either.
Sep-19-08  Jim Bartle: Against my better judgment, I'm going to respond, dr: Who cares if Palin had a baby with Down Syndrome? It's a private matter (though I wish Palin would respect the privacy of other women to make their own choices).

And McGovern was the best presidential candidate of the past fifty years. Not the most electable, but would have been the best president. A fine man.
