An Englishman: Good Evening: Solving 22...Black to Play proved easy enough. Had the puzzle stipulated 21...Black to Play, that would have proven impossible. What a move!
Aug-07-24  King.Arthur.Brazil: It's easy: 22...Rxg2+ 23. Kxg2 Bxh3+ 24. Kg1 Qg4+ 25. Kh1 Qg2# or 24. Kh1 Bg4+ 25. Kg2 Qh2# or Bxh3+ 24. Kf3 Qg4+ 25. Kf2 Qg2#.
Aug-07-24  mel gibson: Easy - just bulldozer your way through. LOL
Aug-07-24  sfm: After having had advantage most of the game, Rødgaard gives it away with 19.dxe4?? (12.exd6 ⩲)

Ah, memories.
18 years old, I played in that tournament (not in the GM-group though) Larsen, in his home country, dominated, winning 10 out of 13 games. Lost only one, to GM Mestel.

Teyss: First tried 23...Qxh3+ instead of Bxh3+ but couldn't find a mate or a clear win, so came back to the beginning and found the game continuation which TBH is easier than the last two days. The other lines are even shorter.

For info on 23...Qxh3+ SF gives mate in 10 after a long King hunt to the other side of the board. No wonder I didn't find it. analysis of move 24.?

Aug-07-24  TheaN: Looked at this briefly right after release on my desktop, then continued on my phone right before sleeping and noticed it's in fact mate in five after <22....Rxg2+>, which is in hindsight, not that difficult. <23.Kxg2 (Kh1 Qxh3#) Bxh3+!>

Fastest if the bishop goes first. More often than not in a diagonal battery the bishop should have the option to be in front of the queen. In this case it's to fall back to g4 and cover f3 after a discover. 23....Qxh3+?! #10 is still mate, but requires Bg4+ as sacrifice instead. Now it's #3: <24.Kg1> 24.Kh1 leads to Bg4+ with Qh2# and 24.Kf3 Qg4+ 25.Kf2 Qg2# <24....Qg4+ 25.Ng3 (else Qg2#) Qxg3+ 26.Kh1 Qg2#>

Aug-07-24  saturn2: White has a piece more but 22...Rxg2 23.Kxg2 Bxh3 must be winning. The king cannot escape. 24.Kf3 Bg4 and back to the corner with mate coming.
