offramp: The <"Hallmark Moment"> of an item of gold or silverware is the exact moment at which a hallmark is struck into an available space on its surface. The exact time is recorded on a piece of parchment and sent to the Tower of London, where it is ceremoniously flushed down the toilet.

Apr-26-20  Brenin: In <Offramp>'s delightful fantasy, it would have been Goldsmith's Hall (hence the term "hallmark"), rather than the Tower of London, which played more sinister role in British history. In fact the family name Hallmark has nothing to do with assaying, being an old Scottish name, with earlier spellings MacAll, Allmack, Allmark, etc.

A few moves later they reached this position:

Here white missed an opportunity to finish things off very swiftly. <55.Bxa7 Bxa7 56.Kh6> and mate can only be delayed a few moves.

Apr-26-20  RandomVisitor: If Fazekas "cared enough to play the very best" he could of tried 9...dxc6
