tpstar: Well, a draw is definitely much better than a loss, yet a win is definitely much better than a draw. Solid opening although the KN trade (7 ... Ng4 8. Qxg4 Nxd4) serves to quiet the position. I missed the fork (23 ... Bc3) so Black was up a Pawn and playing for the win. See how White exchanges Pawns but not pieces, also the undermining 33. f6 and the blockading 36. g5. Then the final sequence (in severe time pressure) when the piece was right there.

  tpstar: Counsellor <keypusher>:

1. Wyoming is a small town near Grand Rapids, MI.
2. But of course - I've met him many times.
3. Yes and No.

Sep-10-16  zydeco: Take my rook. No please take it.

27...Rxb1 gives up mate to 28.Qxg6+ Kf8 29.Bh6# or 28...Kh8 29.Rh3#

Suetin refuses to take the rook on b1, so Tal gives up the other rook on f6: 30....exf6 31.Qh7+ Ke8 32.Qxc7 Rxb1 33.Qxc4 and white's up a piece.

Suetin defends well. It's also a draw after 39.Qxb7 in the bishops-of-opposite-colors endgame.
