Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-29-14  Ke2: Followed by Nakamura - Carlsen yesterday. Why is the final position drawn?
Aug-30-14  Retireborn: <Ke2> After 62...a2, 63.Ra8 is forced, then 63...Kb3 64.g6 Rxe4 (to clear the diagonal) 65.g7 Bc3 with check, 66.Kf5 Bxg7 (not 66...Ra4 because White queens with check) 67.Kxe4 a1Q 68.Rxa1 Bxa1 makes the draw clear.
Jun-23-20  Straclonoor: I'm surprised that Smyslov, who was expert in endings, doesn't saw 36....e2+ with serious advantage. He was old in 1987 but maked some notable wins in the tournament.
