Jun-27-19  newzild: Enjoyed this game - moves 12 to 14 are similar to a line I play as White in the Panov-Botvinnik attack vs Caro Kann.
Jun-27-19  AlicesKnight: <The17thPawn> Indeed; Picard, his eyes open.....

fredthebear: This started as a Dutch Stonewall Defense, Be7 Classical Variation. Botvinnik would gasp if he saw this self-mutilation; Black beats himself before an exchange ever takes place.

Credit Black for seeing the overworked e3-pawn. Otherwise, this game was better left in the trash heap w/the last century. Man, FTB's criticism sounds like...

Jun-27-19  Ironmanth: Honestly spotty play by Shabba, yet contested before he was a strong GM. Thanks chessgames.

ChessCoachClark: <The17thPawn> Wikipedia claims the ST TNG episode was among the best of Star Trek, period. (Memorable to me, but not my favorite. More realistic first contact scenario-- referents between aliens are likely to be problematic. I have a heavy background in linguistics.)

Season 5, Episode 2 in 1991 was named 'Darmok.' Captain Dathon (played by Paul Winfield) of a Tamarian starship and Captain Pickard (played by Patrick Stewart) of the Federation starship Enterprise struggle to learn to communicate with each other by metaphors while facing a monster on a planet's surface.
