Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-23-05  sneaky pete: If 24... Qc7 25.e7 g6 26.Qg5 .. wins.
If 24... Rxe6 at first sight both 25.Nxg7 .. and 25.Nh6 .. are good, but the white King is vulnerable on the back rank as well as the black one. 25.Nxg7? Re1 (if 25.Nh6! Re1 does not work because of 26.Rxe1 Qxg4 27.Nxg4 ..; 25...Qe7/8 26.Qxe6 ..). No doubt Schlechter saw all this when he resigned, but did Tietz too?

Honza Cervenka: Viktor Tietz was quite strong player and so he probably have seen it very well.
Jun-03-07  Zebra: I have been trying to find the game Schlechter-Tietz (also Carlsbad 1906), which does not seem to be in the database. Does anybody know where I can find it?
