<A lot of his moves were just completely mystifying. He’d play a move, and I’d think why on earth did he do that? And I thought, well the only reason he could have done that is to stop me doing this, but I wasn’t even thinking of doing that. Then I realised that was exactly what I should be trying to do. So he was giving me a lesson as we were playing, and telling me how to play the game. Without his help I wouldn’t have had the faintest idea what was going on.>

  perfidious: Hartston annotated this game in the <BCM> in 1977 as well.

His comments, as cited above, give credence to Fischer's remarks in <M60MG> of how Petrosian could snuff out an opponent's dreams of attack long before they had entered his head.
