Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-15-05  Poisonpawns: after blacks 47th: This would be a draw with 1 rook but with 2 rooks along with the white king can chase the black king away from the pawns, leaving them indefensible. In this game Larsen actually lost on time, but his position was totally lost anyway.
Sep-19-15  Howard: Larsen lost on time ?! Chess Life and Review annotated the last portion of this game, and it didn't say anything about that.

Neither did the Informant, but let me double check the latter. I'm not at home right now.

Sep-20-15  Howard: I stand corrected ! Checked Informant 22 last night, and Larsen did indeed lose on time! The game was annotated by Larsen himself, so it was a "reliable" source.

Larsen, by the way, claims that 41.Qc6! would have won for Petrosian. But I don't see the win.

Sep-20-15  Howard: Oh, yes, Chess Life & Review states that Larsen "resigned", plus it gives 41.Qd3! an exclamation mark.
Jan-08-19  RookFile: These queen's gambit situations are tough for black to hold when white gets d5 in. You can make the most natural moves on the board, then d5 happens, and black is scrambling to hold.
