Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-28-06  KingG: This is quite funny. Black improves on Jaenisch vs Mongredien, 1851 with 15...Bf6!(Black's only chance of survival), and then blunders immediately with 16...Bh8??.
Jun-28-06  KingG: Maybe i should add that the correct move for Black was 16...Ne2!, 17.Qf2! c6(anything else is risky for Black) 18.Nxf6+(18.N3b4!? looks unclear, but seems to be White's best chance if he wants to win) 18...Nxf6 19.Qxf6 Qxf6 20.Rxf6 Ng3 21.Nf2 Nxh1 22.Nxh1 leads to an endgame that looks better for Black to me, although i think White should be able to get a draw.

Here's a sample line after 18.N3b4!?, but it's probably not best play by both sides, 18.N3b4!? Qa5 19.Bxe2 cxd5 20.c3 Bxe2 21.Qf5! Bxf1 22.Qxh7 0–0–0 23.Qf5+ Kb8 24.Rxf1 Be5 25.exd5 Rc8 26.Qxf7
