Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-06-08  percyblakeney: Smyslov is winning but goes wrong in the endgame, for example 66. ... Re4 wins quickly after 67. Rxe4 Kxe4 68. Bxf6 Kf5 and there's no way to save this for white:

Dec-26-15  Howard: Yes, the Informant points that out---just noticed it the other day.
Oct-21-16  Howard: Actually, the Informant states that Re4 on the 67th move (not the 66th) would have won quickly.

But, then it hardly matters here!

Nov-11-19  Straclonoor: Looks strange that Smyslov missed 48....Nf4+ giving all chances to win

Analysis by Stockfish 051119 64 POPCNT:

Nov-11-19  Olavi: 47.Rd2 was played.
Feb-29-24  Resignation Trap: Position after 37...Nc6:

The World Champion has outplayed his predecessor and should keep his initiative with 38. Bd4 Qc8 39. h3 Nxd4 40.Nxd4 Ne6 41. f5!

Feb-29-24  Resignation Trap: 47. Re2 is a typographical error. White's actual move was 47. Rd2. Please correct this!
Feb-29-24  Resignation Trap: Position after 41. cxb4 Ne6:

Here, Karpov's 42. Rf2? was weak, as it allows 42...g5! Now if 43. fxg5? Rd8! 44. Qf3 Nxg5 45. Qe3 Nxe5+ and Black wins.
