Jan-26-08  RandomVisitor: 27...Rd4 might be better.
Jul-02-14  zydeco: Foguelman was a Caro-Kann specialist and loved this sort of position with an early ....e5 (c.f. Spassky vs Foguelman, 1960). Often when he pushed .....e5 it involved a pawn sacrifice; here he gets it in for free.

A Fischer book I have (Wade and O'Connell) calls 22.c4 "an error after indifferent opening play."

Foguelman gives a line showing himself to be clearly better with 27....Rd4: 28.Bd5 Nd3 29.f3 Re2 30.Rhd1 Re6 31.Kc2 Ne5 or the fun line, which is 29.Rhd1 Nxf2 30.Rxd4 Re3+.

Wade and O'Connell say that black could have improved with 30.....Rd7 and 42.....Nxg3.

Aug-15-18  RookFile: Not a good game from Fischer. He was fortunate he didn't lose this.
Aug-16-18  Atking: The worst result of all tournaments of Fischer 's Career
Mar-29-20  ewan14: but we know why !
