Dec-30-04  Alaric: 34... f5?? is simply the losing move, which allowed Fischer to make a powerful combination after exf6ep! (the end position leads to 38... Kd8 39 Qe7+! Qxe7 40 fxe7+ which finishes off with a fork)
Dec-30-04  Shams: <Alaric> 34...f5 only warrants a double question mark if you can think of a better move for black. I actually think ...f5 was his best chance. how do you propose to defend f6?
Jan-03-05  Alaric: I was thinking of Kh5
Jan-03-05  Shams: ok ...Kh5 Qf6 and then?
Jan-03-05  Everett: Earlier 24...Bxb5 threatening immediate c3 capture is an idea.
Jan-03-05  flamboyant: very nice game, i really enjoy when both player castle on opposite side, its generally a great fight as we can see here!!
Sep-20-11  Kasparovsky5: Fischer had a quick KO with: 38.Re1+ and 39.Re6, but it seems that he preferred the simpler win.

perfidious: <Kasparovsky5> Embarras de richesse: Fischer's next would have been 39.Qe7+, which also leaves no hope.
May-25-12  screwdriver: Yes, 39.Qe7+ forces black to recapture with his queen. Fischer then takes black's queen on e7 with the pawn on f6. This is check and it's forking blacks king and rook. Sensible place to resign since all of us beginners can see how it finishes.
